TRECO Postal increases focus on quality

TRECO Postal upgrades to ISO 9001:2015 certification.

On Tuesday 6 February 2018, TRECO Postal obtained an ISO 9001:2015 certification.

We are continuing to increase our focus on quality as it helps us improve our customized postal equipment.

The new ISO 9001:2015 certification is a crucial part of that focus.

Our new ISO 9001:2015 certification guarantees our clients that TRECO Postal continues to live up to a high international standard,” says quality manager Carsten Pedersen and continues:

“With the new certification, the board will be more involved with the quality processes. That means our quality management is better integrated with our other business activities.” 

“It obviously means more paperwork but that is a small price to pay for this seal of approval,” adds Carsten Pedersen.

Why we are upgrading to ISO 9001:2015

The interest in our postal equipment is steadily increasing. 

Our high quality is one of the factors that make us stand out. With an increasing demand for our solutions, it is crucial that we focus even more on quality.

”At the moment, we have a lot in our pipeline. We cannot let that affect our product quality because that is what separates us from our competitors,” says Per Therkildsen, Head of Manufacturing.

“That is why we are upgrading our ISO 9001 certification to the latest version. It also shows our clients that our quality is a cornerstone for us,” Per Therkildsen explains.

Since 2013, TRECO Postal has been certified according to ISO 9001:2008.

With the upgrade to ISO 9001:2015, TRECO Postal is now certified by the latest standard which has an increased focus on strategy and risk management.

New initiatives

The upgrade took us a couple of months. The process normally takes around one month but we wanted to extend the process.

This allowed us to properly handle the order increase.

During the process, we got guidance from Bureau Veritas who performed the final key verification.

“With counseling from Bureau Veritas, we created a new structure for our quality folder and a new quality manual,” says Carsten Pedersen.

Expanding quality department

We have hired a quality assistant to ensure we both maintain and strengthen our level of quality.

“With our new quality assistant, we have the resources to comply with the high international standard that comes with an ISO 9001:2015 certification. The new appointment also means we can stay ahead of the established control functions at TRECO Postal,” says Per Therkildsen.

Our new quality assistant will perform entry control of received items and sampling of all outgoing items.
