Today, BiometricSolutions' self-service stations for document delivery are installed in municipalities and public buildings in Denmark and abroad. In 2024 alone, over half a million handouts were carried out primarily in connection with the issuance of passports, where the advanced solution frees up valuable time for better civic services in municipalities. At the same time, citizens will have increased flexibility when they need to retrieve personal documents through the document box.
The advanced document management solution comes with various drawer modules, and the document boxes are designed to handle both passports and A4 documents.
With a depth of only 37 cm, the cabinet is easy to place in an entrance hall or hallway, and the minimalist design fits well into the rest of the interior. Libraries and town halls are particularly popular locations as they allow municipalities to offer citizens accessibility outside of Borgerservices regular opening hours.
The high level of safety, the advanced technology with highly specialized components and the requirements for aesthetics placed great demands on the right production partner for Biometric Solutions.
Biometric Solutions entered into an agreement with TRECO because they could meet these high demands.
The challenge: construction of robust steel cabinets
The biometric solutions are developed at Biometric Solutions' address in Skovlunde, and ease of use is a crucial parameter in the entire development process. The solution integrates easily with existing access systems, so that municipalities can give citizens access to collect, for example, their new passports outside of business hours. The software in the document box automatically deletes and holes the old passport before issuing the new one.
With an advanced technological solution in a beautiful design, Biometric needed a production partner who could contribute sparring to the final construction of the document box, produce the robust steel enclosures, assemble the advanced technology into a finished solution and handle the logistics.

Although the cabinets are not subject to certification requirements, the requirements for quality, durability and aesthetics are towering. The stations are in the public domain, and they must appear professional and fall naturally into the surroundings, be resilient and operate stably over time.
TRECO has adapted the production so that the cabinets meet Biometric Solutions' expectations both in terms of expression and functionality.
