IMBOX Protection:

- Collaboration provides efficient scaling
It takes less than one minute to process your shoes in the Danish IMBOX Protection smart box. As a frontrunner in shoe protection for retail stores, the East German company had big ambitions from the start.
IMBOX Protection's patented innovation for automatic shoe processing quickly became a success. Therefore, it was clear to IMBOX Protection that they needed a professional partner to handle the increasing order intake of the IMBOX Flagship – one of the company's two models.
IMBOX Protection therefore entered into an agreement with TRECO in order to meet all IMBOX Protection's requirements.

- The result is a strong and transparent setup, where we experience the necessary flexibility, a solid business understanding and a clear overview of daily operations, which is the foundation of the partnership we have today.

Emil Lindtner Lundt describes the challenge:

- Our core business is the development of technological instore solutions for shoe processing. We therefore sought a production partner who could handle the entire production flow – from receiving and integrating our technical components to assembly, finishing, preparation and global shipping.

Specifically, IMBOX Protection was looking for a supplier with strong expertise in sheet metal machining, high precision and proven quality assurance.

- Finally, it was crucial to find a partner who could provide a scalable production capacity to match our volatile and sometimes sharply increasing demand.

- Throughout the cooperation, TRECO has demonstrated a high degree of flexibility and ability to follow the significant growth and development that IMBOX Protection has undergone in recent years.

The solution:
a factory-in-factory setup

The pioneering shoe treatment is carried out in a specially designed vacuum chamber. With a single press of the button, a short but complex process is activated, in which six dyers evenly distribute shoe processing over the entire surface of the shoe.

- In practice, IMBOX Protection has its own dedicated production unit, staffed by specially trained employees with a deep understanding of IMBOX Protection's technically complex products.

Today, more than 10,000 IMBOX machines are in retail stores in Europe, the UK, North America and Asia – approximately 2,000 are IMBOX Flagship models. With several subsidiaries in North America and Asia, the ambitions remain high at IMBOX Protection.

- As our business has grown significantly, TRECO has followed suit every step of the way. We can continuously adapt and optimize our production flow in line with changes in the market, technology and our product portfolio. That flexibility is critical to IMBOX Protection's continued development and to our ability to deliver to our customers with high predictability and quality.

- Cooperation has been a development journey for both parties. Through close dialogue and shared learning, we have built a mutual understanding of each other's business and needs.

Value creation:
simple processes and a streamlined production chain

The cooperation with TRECO extends far beyond the traditional supplier relationship.

Emil Lindtner Lundt summarizes the significance of the partnership:

- TRECO contributes with significant technical sparring — both in connection with the optimization of existing structures and when we develop new models and components. Their insights into production engineering and material understanding have contributed to a strengthened and agile product development process.

Most recently, TRECO has taken over responsibility for sourcing a number of components, reducing the complexity of IMBOX Protection's internal processes and creating a more streamlined, cohesive production chain.

Now they simply send an item number, then it triggers a container that is ready for pickup.

- It frees up time and resources for our core activities and supports more efficient scaling of the business.

Facts:
This is what TRECO delivers

  1. Production optimization: Procurement and warehousing of all standard and special components, production of steel enclosures for IMBOX Flagship, assembly, component integration and machine building for finished product.
  2. Quality control and approvals: TRECO ensures that all quality control and approval requirements are met — TRECO is UL approved and performs FAT tests as part of the preparation.
  3. Inventory management, logistics and packing, including sourcing, parts inventory and finished products.
