From its headquarters in Sønderborg, the Southern Jutland-based company SwipBox now operates in 54 countries. You have likely already used their solution in your daily life, as thousands of parcels change hands every day via SwipBox technology.
SwipBox was founded in 2012 with a clear ambition to revolutionize logistics and parcel distribution through technology and user-friendly solutions – but as a tech company, they lacked a large-scale facility capable of handling both the development of the finished product and efficient production scaling.
To realise their ambitious strategy, SwipBox entered into a partnership with TRECO.

Kenneth Philipsen describes the challenge:
We had the software in place and the technology developed – we felt quite confident that we were onto something real.
However, we could not move forward without a production partner with the right setup; a partner who could collaborate with us on developing and engineering the product, creating prototypes, and ultimately delivering the final SwipBox model.
The solution:
a close partnership from day one
The SwipBox Infinity model is a screenless parcel locker that is both intuitive for users and reliable for operators. It is battery-powered, easy to install, and operated via Bluetooth technology and an app. SwipBox has their Infinity model manufactured by TRECO, who also produce the heavy-duty base for the locker to ensure high quality and a complete, robust solution.
- During the development phase, TRECO handled the technical engineering and quickly translated our design of the Infinity model into a physical prototype, which entered production following a thorough testing phase.
With rising demand and a growing market share, the partnership was expanded. Since 2019, SwipBox has had its own dedicated production line at TRECO, featuring specialized equipment and staff trained to produce SwipBox solutions. As part of a large factory, SwipBox can quickly scale up or down if the market changes unexpectedly – as it did during Covid-19.
- We have our own factory within the factory. We hold weekly status meetings with TRECO, where we adjust processes, adapt production, and discuss new ideas that can be put into play.
