From its head office in Sønderborg, the South Jutland company SwipBox currently operates in 54 countries. You have probably already used their solution in everyday life, where thousands of packages change hands via Swipbox's technology.
SwipBox started in 2012 with a clear ambition to revolutionize logistics and package distribution through technology and user-friendly solutions – but as a tech company they lacked a large factory that could handle both the development of the finished product and scale production efficiently.
Therefore, SwipBox partnered with TRECO to realise their ambitious strategy.

Kenneth Philipsen describes the challenge:
- We had the software in place, and the technology was developed – we felt quite confident that we were on the right track.
- But we could not move forward without a production partner with the right setup; a partner who could work with us to develop and engineer the product, create prototypes, and finally come up with the final Swipbox model.
The solution:
A close partnership from day one
SwipBox's Infinity model is a screenless package box that is both intuitive for the user and reliable for the operator. It runs on batteries, is easy to install and is operated via Bluetooth technology and an app. SwipBox produces their Infinity model at TRECO, which also makes the heavy base for the box to ensure high quality and a unified, robust solution.
- During the development phase, TRECO was in charge of the technical development and quickly turned our design of the Infinity model into a physical prototype, which was put into production after a thorough testing phase.
With increasing demand and a growing market share, the partnership expanded. Since 2019, SwipBox has had its own dedicated production line at TRECO with specialized equipment and employees trained to produce SwipBox solutions. As part of a large factory, SwipBox can quickly scale up or down if the market changes unexpectedly – as happened during Covid-19.
- We have our own factory in the factory. We have weekly progress meetings with TRECO, where we adjust processes, adjust production, and discuss new ideas that can be put into action.
